ArtsOrb was launched in November of 2023 as an emerging organization which advocates for and supports dance artists as they transition from early success to more sustainable futures. ArtsOrb’s Pilot Project will build a network of organizations, residencies, and creative stakeholders to support a cohort of 3 artists / arts collectives as they workshop, develop and produce new work. Our pilot project is fiscally sponsored by the New York Foundation for the Arts.

Provide overarching vision, partnership, and support for educational and professional development areas of the dance center while leading curation, production, and execution of all performances, events, panels, workshops, and artist residencies.

Facilitate relationships with artistic directors, choreographers, dancers, musicians, authors, curators, presenters, producers, lighting designers, stage managers, agents, and moderators in the arts locally, nationally, and internationally.

Research and pursue opportunities for partnerships with external organizations that cultivate innovative and unique programming and opportunities.

Work hand in hand with the development department to seek out new funding opportunities: Foundations, Grants, Individual Donors, and Corporate Sponsorship.

Liaise with Marketing and PR to develop effective marketing campaigns designed to attract the largest audience possible and increase ticket sales.

Liaise with social media contacts, both internal and external, to leverage the content from 92NY Harkness Mainstage Events and disseminate our brand.
Key Accomplishments:

Successfully brought a dance series back to the historical Kaufmann Concert Hall stage after a 50-year absence and reclaimed the stage as a platform for diverse, visionary creative voices.

Launched an annual festival, soliciting emerging choreographers to connect them with industry leaders and artistic directors who are invested in the next generation which, within three years’ time, has led to artistic residencies, company commissions, and performance opportunities while creating a network of support for the future of dance.

Conceived, directed, and produced program-length work Hubbard Street’s first full-length narrative, Harold and the Purple Crayon: A Dance Adventure, specifically for young people and families. The work received critical acclaim for its sold-out premiere at the Eisenhower Theater of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and was later performed at the Detroit Opera House, the Cleveland Playhouse, and the Harris Theater for Music and Dance.

Created, directed, and produced a series cross disciplinary programs and site-specific installations in collaboration with the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Curated and produced a series of performances and events as part of a $100,000 Arts Place Grant for HSDC to create vibrancy at a tech start-up shared workspace called 1871 via year-long partnering with corporate consultants on creative thought, investigating how dance can influence entrepreneurs.

Developed curriculum, contract artistic staff, schedule repertoire and teaching for the HSDC Summer Intensive programs, a nationally recognized intensive that generated $450K annually.
